June 15, 2021
Dear AES Families,
To provide further clarification on the upcoming 8th Grade Graduation Ceremony on June 18th, 6:00 PM:
Despite recent relaxation of COVID-related restrictions in most public places, all schools are still required to follow the health and safety framework from the Maine Department of Education for graduation ceremonies regardless of whether or not school is in session.
After a discussion with the 8th Grade Class last week, the consensus from the students was to continue to hold the ceremony indoors, in order to enjoy the decorations and add a more personal feel to the event.
Please note the following:
- Masks are required for all attendees while indoors. Disposable masks are available at the entrance upon request. We will have an area outside for unmasked photo opportunities before and after the ceremony.
- Seats will be placed at a 6 foot distance. Those who live in the same household are not required to distance themselves from each other, and can sit closer together.
- Self-screening at home prior to the event is required of all attendees, please stay home if you are sick or are experiencing COVID related symptoms.
The ceremony will begin at 6:00 PM and I ask that 8th Graders please be at the school no later than 5:50 PM as I will be meeting with the students to prepare for the ceremony.
Sincerely,
Trevor Flood
