Frequently Asked Questions
What is the PTG?
The PTG is a nonprofit group comprised of parents, teachers, and staff dedicated to improving the educational experience of all students at Alexander Elementary School. Our goals are to encourage interaction between family and school, serve as a source of support, and work with teachers, staff, and the community at large to improve our children’s educational experience.
What does the PTG do, exactly?
Organize, help, support, and volunteer!
Who can join?
Any parent or guardian of a current student as well as all current faculty and staff.
What are the benefits of being a member?
When and where are the meetings?
Monthly meetings are almost always held at the school, after school hours. Depending on the needs of the majority of members, times are usually scheduled for the evening.
What happens to the money raised by the PTG?
While fundraising is not our primary goal, it is an important aspect of the PTG. One hundred percent of the money raised through PTG goes directly back to benefit the students. PTG’s role has become even more critical as we raise funds to supplement the cost of the schools’ needs.
Are there ways for me to volunteer without being at school or events?
