Dear AES Staff and Families, As we enter April break and families may be planning for travel, please take time to review the latest travel information from the Maine CDC. That information and more can be found at: https://www.maine.gov/covid19/ https://www.maine.gov/dhhs/mecdc/infectious-disease/epi/airborne/coronavirus/travel.shtml For families who do decide to travel during break, a quick reference created by the Maine Department of Education with the Maine CDC, can be found below. International Travel including Canada and Mexico (for Fully Vaccinated people) *fully vaccinated defined as 14 days or more have past since final COVID-19 vaccine dose Testing Requirement - 3-5 days after arrival in Maine is recommended; IF positive, isolate for 10 days Quarantine Timeline - Not required unless experiencing symptoms Release from Quarantine - Not required Special Considerations - Avoid being around anyone who is at increased risk of severe COVID-19 illness for 14 days following arrival in the US, regardless of COVID-19 test results. International Travel (for NOT Fully Vaccinated people) Testing Requirement - 3-5 days after arrival in Maine is recommended; IF positive, isolate for 10 days Quarantine Timeline - 7 days with testing, 10 days if not tested Release from Quarantine - Complete 7-day quarantine even if tested negative. If test is positive, isolate for 10 days from test date or symptom onset date whichever is earlier. Special Considerations - Avoid being around anyone who is at increased risk of severe COVID-19 illness for 14 days following arrival in the US, regardless of COVID-19 test results. Domestic Travel (within the 50 States and US Territories) Non-exempt States or Territories Testing Requirement - Test within 72 hours prior to travel into Maine to forgo the 10-day quarantine or immediately upon return to Maine Quarantine Timeline - Without test, 10 days of quarantine and monitor for four more days Release from Quarantine - Test is negative, forgo the quarantine. No testing or quarantine needed once fully vaccinated (14 days post final dose of vaccine) Special Considerations - Quarantine must be maintained until negative test results are completed.If a traveler has tested positive for Covid-19 within 90 days (3 months), no quarantine restriction. Continue to follow state PPE guidelines. Exempt States or Territories Testing Requirement - Exempted from testing Quarantine Timeline - No quarantine time Release from Quarantine - May immediately return to normal activities but must continue to follow PPE guidelines. Special Considerations - Continue to follow state PPE guidelines.
