Dear AES Families, I am writing to inform you that Alexander Elementary will return to in-person learning on Monday, December 7th 2020. On December 7th, the previously adopted school schedule will be in place, with school starting at 8:00 AM and dismissing at 1:30 PM. The school department’s decision for this date, based on feedback from families, local health indicators, and consideration of information from the Maine CDC - which reports at this time, “evidence continues to suggest a relatively low risk of school-based transmission of COVID-19 and affirm the importance of keeping some level of in-person instruction for students whenever possible,” comes with an emphasis on the importance of maintaining required safety measures as students return to in-person learning. One such safety measure, masks/face coverings in schools, has received updated guidelines from the State.
